Installing Kickboards
A kickboard is the horizontal panel that runs along the bottom of your base cabinets, covering the cabinet legs and creating a clean, finished look.
What you will need
-
Panel clips or brackets (or just screws)
-
Measuring tape
-
Saw (for trimming if needed)
-
Drill/screwdriver
-
Silicone (optional, for sealing to floor)
Step-by-Step Installation:
1. Measure & Fit
Measure each section under your cabinets, cut the kickboard to length using a saw.
Standard height is 140mm, but adjust if needed.
2. Position kickboard
Place it in front of the cabinet legs, ensure it's flush with the cabinet front and square to the floor.
3. Fix in Place
Pre-assembled cabinets have plastic leg clips or brackets to snap kickboards into.
4. Seal the Bottom Edge (Optional)
Apply a bead of clear silicone along the floor to prevent water or dirt from getting under.
5. Final Check
Make sure all edges are flush and clean.
